Black Sailing Research Practicum

Led by Professor Caroline Collins at UC San Diego, the Black Sailing Research Practicum explores Black relationships to water by learning how to sail and participating in a directed group study class.

Sailing lessons take place at the Maritime Museum of San Diego and comprise a hands-on learning component associated with Prof. Collins’ exhibition, Take Me to the Water: Histories of the Black Pacific.
